The Annual Referee Seminar and Examination, held on the 2nd and 3rd of March 2002, saw many current and new referees gathering at the SJF Judo House in Portsdown road and the Bedok Indoor Sports Hall respectively. The Inaugural event organized by the R.T.C was aimed at increasing the refereeing standard for Judo in Singapore with several veteran referees sharing their knowledge acquired from overseas refereeing seminars.

This event also provided an opportunity for aspiring black-belt holders to acquire referee accreditation.
