The New Zealand National Team on their return trip from several European Invitational Tournaments stopped over in Singapore on Nov 2001 to join our SJF training. It was a great session where our local Judo enthusiast 'challenged' the New Zealanders one after another. Of course we had the added advantage that our fellow kiwi friends were still suffering from jet lag and the adjustment to our humid weather.

Nonetheless, everyone benefited from the sparring sessions that saw many spectacular throws and intense competitions.

The NZ team said that they would make Singapore their preferred stopover country for their flights to the Europe or States in future. So, fellow judo enthusiasts, do watch this space as SJF would keep you informed on when the NZ team may be stopping by again!
