Mr Teo Ser Luck - Ministry of Community Youth & Sports, Parliamentary Secretary |
We need your support, please contact us if you wish to make a
contribution to us.
The Singapore Judo Federation (SJF) will be holding its official opening
ceremony for its new clubhouse or Dojo on the 12 April 2008. The event
will be held during a dinner at 1 Guillemard Crescent, Singapore 399913
at 6.30pm. We are deeply honoured to have Parliamentary Secretary, Mr
Teo Ser Luck as our Guest of Honour to officiate the opening ceremony and
dinner.
Originally operating from our headquarters at Portsdown Road, due to
recent developments in the area we were compelled to move to our new
location at No. 1, Guillemard Crescent. Though we are grateful for the
larger premise, the facilities are extremely old and run down as it is
the hall of the old Haig Boy’s School. Therefore we require a fair
amount of funds to restore and renovate the building as well as replace
the old electrical and water works. We will need to raise $200,000 for
the renovation and maintenance of the facilities for the next 2 years as
well as funds to finance our development programmes.
On behalf of the SJF, we would like to seek your generous support to make
a significant contribute towards the publication of our souvenir magazine
or to buy tables to the dinner.
Your contributions will go towards the renovation, equipping and
maintenance of the building as well as excesses channeled toward the
following programmes:
-
Supporting a new strategy to promote judo as an excellent choice for
youth development;
-
Introducing new judo activities that can be easily practiced by senior
citizens; in line with current trends in third age education, judo can be
promoted as a form of life long activity and exercise, where our senior
citizens can engage in meaningfully and socially, without fear of
injuries;
-
Working with primary schools to introduce judo to children from 8
years old onwards. This will be the first time that this is done in
Singapore and will be an exciting and promising venture for us;
-
A supporting system of coaches to be developed, maintained and
sustained so that this new and exciting programme can get off the ground
and be financially self sustaining.
